Even more garden excitement!

No.1 Cheap compost bins!
My Aldi compost bin that I had for a few years is full and falling to pieces, so I thought I could do with a new one. However, the price of £40+ has been putting me off for quite a while. Howver at the weekend I came across this website where the 330litre bin cost only £10 with £1 discount for ordering online! I ordered it on Sunday, and my shiny new bin was waiting on my doorstep when I got home from work yesterday! :D

Unfortunately, I should have read the dimensions, because it was too big to fit through my front door :( I had to squash it (and several of my fingers in the process) to get it out into the back yard :-/

No. 2 The joy of pumpkins
A further propagator excitement this morning was that 4 out of 7 pumpkin seeds have started to grow. I have tried many time to get pumpkin seeds to grow but have never managed to germinate any at all! Whoohoo!!

Pumpkins... my little boy keeps asking for "Pumpkin Music" on the car stereo. That's because I've regressed back to my late teens listenting to Helloween (a heavy metal band of old, back to the days when my best friend had his first car and it had a tape deck).

With such lyrics as
bad luck if you get a stone,
just like good ol' Charlie Brown,
You don't think Linus could be right?
The kids will say it's just a stupid lie...

My boy is very impressed (still he can't actually hear the lyrics and just bobs his head up and down).

God bless German heavy metal of the 1980s!!!

At what age does good taste in music develop? When I was his age, I was mad into Abba! :( Scarey! (although maybe not as scarey in real life as Helloween)

ps. Actually "Hello"ween sound a bit twee for a Heavy Metal Band

pps. Am I rambling???

Well... my girlie (6.5) is now a big "chick rock" fan, so it's Avril Lavine and Sheryl Crow (oh and a touch of Abba). And my boy is, depending on who's car he's in, Abba (as long it's Waterloo), Greenday (as long as it's the Holiday song), and pumpkin music! I am trying to wheen him onto more mature music but it's hard. I am allowed to listen to "space music" as well which is handy as I've hundreds of Hawkwind CDs... :)

And how can they be twee if they are bleeding edge German metal monsters!??!!? Yes I get your point :)

Rambling's still legal in this country isn't it? x
