Call me a killjoy!

by SuburbanHousewife @ 2007-10-31 - 20:45:56

Well I've never really been into halloween. But when I arrived home from work tonight, I found that nearly every house on my road was decorated with halloween type stuff, and I almost felt I had missed out: It must have taken a fair amount of co-ordination to put up all the fake grave stones and creepy spider's webs, (and without me knowing about it in advance!) However, when I just popped out to get a photo, my neighbours were hastily packing it all away.

Thats when it all clicked into place. The place were I now live is very famous for its ghosts, and when I went outside, there seemed to be a guided walk just leaving the street!

Anyway, while I have no inclination to take part in this stuff (i'm sitting in the back room with most of the lights switched off), I will however be hanging around my local cemetery at the weekend - putting poppies on the war graves.

They don't seem to stray as far as my house, and I have never been lucky enough to experience the pub ghosts although everyone else on the street assures me they have.

I have a bat though - he's called Bert.

I haven't seen him tonight though, he must be busy!

I admit that I did a bit of a double take when I first got out of my car!

You are sooo right, my street was lit up like a jack o lantern but it is all in the spirit of things ha ha!! On the other hand my rather spooky and not so nice next door next door neighbours did their usual "everyone look at me" trick and had every halloween product that woolies could muster stroon across their house - they even were dressed up and have NO kids! - now you tell me - is it me or is that just a little weird???

Love the blog by the way!
love Bev x

Thanks Bev! :)

Yes I think your neighbours are wierd, but not as wierd as mine I fear. The other Saturday morning, I bumped into them walking down the street carrying life sized papier Mache models of themselves - THATS wierd!

Don't supposed you found out why they made life size papier mache models of themselves?

Fair enough...

I'll carry on using my very vivid imagination, then.
